Education

Students are served by the Rogers Public Schools district, which is comprised of ten elementary schools, four middle schools, and two high schools. Benton School of the Arts and Benton County School of the Arts High School offer specialized programs and curriculum that focus on creative enrichment and personal growth. Private and parochial schools are also available throughout Benton County and are ready to serve the educational needs of students in a faith-based learning environment. Colleges and universities located within a short distance from Rogers include Northwest Arkansas Community College, University of Arkansas (home of the Arkansas Razorbacks), and Freedom Bible College and Seminary. Many more institutions of higher learning are also located within the Fayetteville metro area.

Widely known as the location of the first ever Wal-Mart store with its corporate headquarters located in nearby Bentonville, residents of Rogers are never short of opportunities for employment. Just south of Rogers, the headquarters of J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. and Tyson Foods, Inc. add to economic prosperity of this NW corridor of Arkansas. In addition to a number of other Fortune 500 companies are also headquartered in the area as a support to the aforementioned corporations. BusinessWeek magazine has also recognized the City of Rogers as the 18th most affordable city in a list of the 25 best affordable suburbs in the American South.

Attractions & Points of Interest

Residents have plenty to see and do when it comes to checking out the local attractions and visiting sites of interests. Rogers is the location of the first Wal-Mart store (then known as Wal-Mart Discount City), located at 719 West Walnut Street. If you're looking to catch a fly ball or a homerun, then Arvest Ballpark is the place where you want to be. If you like outdoor concerts, Rogers is home to a premiere outdoor concert venue called the AMP. The AMP features various genres of music from country, rock, electronic to pop.

Area golf courses include Big Sugar Golf Club, The Creeks Public Links, The Greens on Blossom Way, The Links at Lowell, Lost Springs Golf & Athletic Club, Pinnacle Country Club, Prairie Creek Country Club, and Shadow Valley Country Club.

Residents enjoy taking advantage of being in the outdoors, and heading out to Beaver Lake is one way to do it! Whether it's for fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, or just sunbathing by the shore, visitors enjoy taking in the scene set by the limestone bluffs and caves at this popular lake. Lake Atlanta is another popular hotspot that residents enjoy heading out to. As the oldest park in Rogers, Lake Atlanta has a variety of amenities and activities for all to enjoy, including an Olympic sized swimming pool, a two mile walking trail, exercise stations, a fishing hole, and picnic tables. The park is located just below the Lake Atlanta Dam.
